The Villa is located on the edge of a small development, “El Olivar de Buenavista,” in the bottom of a huge valley once totally covered with olive, orange and lemon trees. The valley is ringed with mountains, one being Mount Maroma, even higher than Ben Nevis. Looking northwards is a huge u-shaped mountain pass – Zafaraya. The Zafaraya Pass provides an alternative route to Granada , but the drive up to it is not for the fainthearted! From the bedroom balcony facing east, we always enjoy watching the sun rise over Mount Maroma. To the west, just over the hill from the villa is beautiful Lake Vinuela.

“El Olivar de Buenavista” is within walking distance of the Spanish village of Puente don Manuel and the more modern development of Puente with its many shops and bars.

It takes about 15 minutes to drive down to the coastal resort of Torre del Mar.

Villa Salia is within easy reach of both Malaga airport (bustling) 45 minutes westwards along the coast, and Granada airport (small and quiet) about 90 minutes drive inland.

Whilst a car is thought necessary, a taxi service is available locally to transport to and from the airports For anyone who is not looking to do more than walk to the local villages, and mostly relax at the villa, this could be an option.
